Vegetarians don't eat the flesh of any animals, be they mammals, birds, or fish. In addition vegans don't eat any animals products such as milk, cheese, and eggs.
Why do people become vegetarians?
There are a variety of reasons many people switch to a vegetarian diet. Some do it for weight loss and improved health. Some are concerned about the safety of meat following recent out breaks of salmonella and e. Coli bacteria. Others feel that it is a moral or spiritual issue. Some people don't want animals to suffer. A few just don't like meat. For many vegetarians it is a combination of issues.
